What is the Hormone Therapy program?

The Hormone Therapy program is a physician-guided program for men and women whose symptoms may be linked to hormones, such as low energy, mood changes, poor sleep, weight gain, low libido, hot flashes or irregular periods, including around perimenopause, menopause or falling testosterone.

It is built on proper assessment: your symptoms, your history and, if your physician requests them, laboratory tests interpreted by a physician, so decisions are based on your results, not guesswork.

What are the potential benefits?

Answers for symptoms that overlap
Many hormone symptoms look like other problems. A proper assessment helps sort out which is which.
Testing done right
Hormone tests collected at home, timed and interpreted by a physician, when requested.
Your results explained
What your levels mean for you, in plain language.
Your options laid out
What can be done, so you can decide with your physician.
Ongoing review
Hormones change over time, so follow-ups keep your plan up to date.

How does it work?

Hormones are chemical messengers that travel in the blood and tell your organs what to do. They influence energy, mood, sleep, weight, desire and the menstrual cycle, and their levels shift naturally with age, stress, sleep and body weight.

The program works because it assesses before anything is decided:

It reads your symptoms in context
Tiredness or low mood can come from hormones, but also from sleep, stress, iron or thyroid. Looking at the whole picture avoids chasing the wrong cause.
It times your tests
Some hormones change through the day or across the menstrual cycle, so any tests requested are timed for an accurate reading.
It looks at connected systems
Thyroid, blood sugar and stress hormones affect one another, so they are considered together.
It looks after the basics
Sleep, body weight, activity and stress all influence hormone balance, so they are part of the plan.
It reviews over time
Repeat assessment shows how things are changing, so your plan changes with you.

Decisions based on your own results, reviewed over time, are what make hormone care personal.

What should I expect during the program?

At the start
A review of your symptoms, tests if requested, and your results explained.
As you go
Regular reviews, with tests repeated when your physician considers it useful.
Throughout
Care that adjusts as your body changes. Results vary from person to person.

Who it may suit

This program may suit you if:

  • You have symptoms you think may be hormone-related.
  • You want proper testing and a physician’s interpretation.
  • You want ongoing review, not a one-off result.

Your physician will tell you if the program is not suitable for you, or if in-person care would serve you better.

What’s included

Every part of the program is led or requested by your physician.

Your physician
A PRC-licensed physician reviews your history and goals, and decides what is clinically appropriate for you.
Regular follow-ups
Your care team reviews how you are doing and the plan is adjusted as you go.
Laboratory tests
Only if your physician requests them, based on your assessment. Not everyone needs them. Hormone baseline packages are available. Your sample is collected at home and a physician reviews every result.
