What is the Weight Management program?

The Weight Management program is a physician-guided weight loss program. It is designed to help you lose weight at a steady pace you can keep, and to look after the health markers that often come with extra weight: blood sugar, cholesterol and blood pressure.

There is no crash diet. You get a plan built around your body, your routine and the food you eat, with a physician, a nutritionist-dietitian and a care team supporting you from home.

What are the potential benefits?

A reason for your weight, not just a number
Your physician looks at what may be making weight hard to lose, such as sleep, stress, hormones, medicines or blood sugar.
Knowing your numbers
If your physician requests them, tests collected at home show your blood sugar, HbA1c, cholesterol, and liver and kidney health, so your plan starts from facts.
Food you can live with
Our nutritionist-dietitian plans around the meals you already eat, with portions and swaps instead of a list of banned foods.
Movement that fits you
Exercise suggestions matched to your fitness level, your schedule and any joint or health limits.
Someone keeping you on track
Regular follow-ups adjust the plan when progress slows.

How does it work?

Weight changes when the energy you take in and the energy your body uses shift over time, but that balance is shaped by much more than willpower. Sleep, stress, hormones, blood sugar, muscle and some medicines all affect your hunger, your cravings and how your body stores fat. That is why the same diet works for one person and not for another.

The program works on those factors together:

It finds your causes first
Your assessment, and tests if your physician requests them, look for what may be pushing your weight up, such as insulin resistance, poor sleep or a medicine’s side effect, so your plan targets your reasons instead of a generic calorie count.
It keeps you full on fewer calories
Meals built around protein and fiber keep hunger steady, and fewer blood sugar spikes mean fewer cravings. You keep the food you enjoy, with smarter portions and swaps.
It protects your muscle
Regular movement, including strength exercises, helps you hold on to muscle while you lose fat. Muscle is a big part of how much energy your body uses, even at rest.
It calms what drives hunger
Better sleep and less stress steady the hormones behind hunger and late-night cravings.
It adjusts as your body adapts
Your body uses less energy as you lose weight, which is why plateaus happen. Follow-ups catch them early and change the plan.

Small changes you can keep are what make weight loss last, which is why the whole plan is built around your real life.

What should I expect during the program?

At the start
Your results explained in plain language, your plan set, and a few small changes to begin with, usually around meals, sleep and daily movement.
As you go
Regular check-ins. Plateaus are normal, and your plan is adjusted when they happen, so you are never left guessing.
Throughout
Healthy weight loss is generally gradual. The focus is on habits you can keep, so you do not end up starting over. Results vary from person to person.

Who it may suit

This program may suit you if:

  • You want a physician’s assessment, not a one-size-fits-all plan.
  • You have tried on your own and want structure and follow-up.
  • You want to understand your own metabolic markers.

Your physician will tell you if the program is not suitable for you, or if in-person care would serve you better.

What’s included

Every part of the program is led or requested by your physician.

Your physician
A PRC-licensed physician reviews your history and goals, and decides what is clinically appropriate for you.
In-house nutritionist
A registered nutritionist-dietitian builds a nutrition plan around how you actually eat.
Regular follow-ups
Your care team reviews how you are doing and the plan is adjusted as you go.
Laboratory tests
Only if your physician requests them, based on your assessment. Not everyone needs them. The Metabolic Package is one option: ten tests across four categories. Your sample is collected at home and a physician reviews every result.
